10.06.04 - Gold Camera - Okay, your questions maybe, "Terry, what's your obsession with all things gold?" Or it maybe your question is "What's the deal with you and that one girl?" If it's the latter question, then you should just mind your own business. However, if your question is the first, then I must reply with the following. It's not really my obsession with gold. It's this crazy consumer product mentality that companies have. Somehow they feel a need to fill the high end market by making a gold version of whatever it is they make. Whether its power tools or shoddy electronics, somehow they think someone will want it in gold. And the worst part is that gold is pretty damn ugly. It's ugly. If it weren't for the fact that it costs a lot, people would realize that gold is just a glittery booger color. Also, gold is freaking heavy and not very strong. If it were up top me, the high end version of stuff would be made out of titanium or carbon fiber.

Anyways, here's another consumer product made out of gold. Note the diamonds in the grip, very gaudy. I guess the real reason I make these posts, is because I get to keep on making this joke. -terry
