10.13.04 - lovely lovely spam - So I've been taking these weekly CPE (continued professional education) classes in Irvine through CalCPA society. And most of the time, the topics are fairly on center with what I do here at work. But sometimes, they have these random topics. Last night's topic was about spam. Though it didn't really have anything to do with accounting, nor did it teach anything new, it did get me thinking about spam and how much time, money, and effort is devoted to filtering it. From companies selling services, to people studying it, and congress even legislating it, spam is big business. In my opinion, until we re-vamp the whole e-mail system, all this effort isn't going to make much of a difference. I say just sit back, relax, and enjoy spam while you can. -terry
